Fighting for a Perfect Day 15th January 2011

Following London Warriors Chief Instructor, Tony Francis reading Kayleigh Brannan’s story in the local paper, the story of a local 21 year old girl terminally ill with a brain tumour, Kayleigh had only been given months to live. Kayleigh’s wish is to get married to the man of her dreams. Family and friends of Kayleigh have been working hard to raise money to help make this wish come true. London Warriors Freestyle Martial Arts Academy decided they would also like to help by holding a sparathon event. Martial Arts clubs we’re invited to come along and pay to spar for 2 hours.

The preparations began, the event was named FIGHTING FOR A PEFECT DAY.

The event was held on the 15th January from 14:00 to 16:00 at Rutlish School, the venue was kindly donated by Atkins, special thanks to Laura Shaw for helping us with securing and organising this location.

GlaxoSmithKline also supported the event by providing refreshments, bottles of Lucozade and other Lucozade merchandise. Special thanks to Lucy James who was our contact at GSK.

Some clubs were unable to attend but still sent in donations or held their own events to help raise money towards this cause.

The London Warriors were overwhelmed with the response they received and collected over £1000.00 with donations still coming in.
